We had some fun the other day with our new friend little puppy Cody! In fact so much fun and he loved our store so much that he didn’t want to leave!!!

This was a fun little video our good friend Brendan Kirby created and produced back in September!
Let’s face it, with all that’s going on it’s hard to always know what to do and how to act in what otherwise would be normal, routine activities. Like shopping, for example. Does anyone really know what’s allowed anymore?!
Well, my friend Brendan Kirby does. And he has swooped in to save the day for all of us!
Filmed at our world headquarters store in Newport, consider these “Do’s and Don’ts” your DEFINITIVE guide to shopping during this time!
Special thanks to Jessica Bradley and Eric Montaquila for their help on this (and for putting up with us)!
Your favorite ambassador for the state of Rhode Island, Jessica David, has created her way of connecting with people and learning how they’ve been dealing with all that we’ve been going through. It’s called the Coronacast and is a series of short (like 3 minutes) video chats. Phil was honored to be her guinea pig, we mean first guest! 🙂
Check it out here:

PS-Phil won’t reveal his coffee secret!

Well it’s been a little while since we’ve blogged, and a lot going on, needless to say. We’d moved into our place in Newport and had a great time opening for the month of December, and for the Newport Winter Festival in February. We met a lot of great new friends (human and furry!) and were loving the new neighborhood and neighbors! We were in the middle of renovating the place and had hoped to be open by now, but…well, you know.
We hope you are all staying safe and healthy and well during this, and we to be open soon!
In the meantime, please stay in touch with us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Still a lot going on there!
Stay Well!

As soon as we locate in Newport this happens. Ahem. Coincidence?! We think not!
Newport, R.I., ranked in top 10 “most romantic U.S. destinations to spend the holiday season.”

October 2019 is a HUGE month for the Natick Mall! In addition to some little store called “Amazon” something or other, we will be doing a 5-day pop-up stand next week! Yup, Beau Tyler & the Sly Dog Co. will be at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA from Wednesday October 23rd thru Sunday October 27th. We’ll be there all open mall hours, so come by, say hi, and maybe #GetBeauTyzed ! It’ll be fun 🙂

It’s Monday. Everyone needs a hug on Monday. And sure, you might have a friend or a relative or a spouse or a significant other that you could ask that gives decent hugs, but I don’t have to know how good that hug is to know that it’s no comparison to one from a friendly dog.
Your dog, if you have one, is of course preferable. But if you don’t have one, or if you happen to be in New York City and don’t mind “cheating” on your pup (oh they’ll find out!) then you should make it your mission to find Loubie.

This is Loubie. Short for Louboutina. We mentioned her on Bow Ties but wanted to again here. Loubie gives out free hugs in NYC!

Her usual spot is at 5thAve and 17thSt 2-3 times a week (Loubie’s got it right, that’s my kind of work week!) with her owner Cesar, giving out hugs to anyone that wants one.
There are a lot of great reasons to go to New York City, but a hug from Loubie just might be at the top of the list!

Had a great day golfing (and eating oysters on the course) at The Tomorrow Fund Golf Tournament at Warwick Country Club yesterday. An incredibly well-run tournament for a most worth cause.

I urge you to check out The Tomorrow Fund at TomorrowFund.org, a wonderful organization that provides financial and emotional help to kids with cancer and their families.

This is one of my favorite true stories of all-time.
We shared it on Bow Ties when I saw it, but wanted to share it here because it was recently announced that it is going to be made into a major motion picture. It’s the story of Arthur, the dog who crossed a jungle to find a home. And of Mikael Lindnord who, with his team, took him home. From ESPN’s SC Featured:
It’ll probably be the best 14 minutes you’ll spend today (There might be a longer version out there, which is worth seeing). It’s absolutely beautiful. I’ve watched it many times and cried from the start every time. But spoiler alert, it has a happy ending (I tell you this cause I won’t watch animal stories that don’t have a happy ending!). I even read the book…and I never read.

The film will be called Arthur the King and will star Mark Wahlberg.

We like to say “What’s better than a dog in a bowtie?!” And this kid has figured that out too! Check out this article from Today.com on Darius Brown, a 12-year old boy who makes bowties for dogs to help them get adopted. (And we love the name of his company, too!)

Darius is the best! It’s a beautiful thing to see someone figure out how they can use their talents and abilities to help people or pets (especially pets!). Isn’t that kind of what most of us are looking for in our lives?

I’m Batman!
Ok, I’m not. I’m Beau Tyler. But this guy really IS Batman! For homeless dogs and cats.

Click the link below and check out this article from The Dodo to see how this man (spoiler alert: his real name is revealed) helps transport shelter pets to their forever homes.
He’s Batman! For homeless dogs and cats.
Oh and I couldn’t do this post without including one of the greatest endings to a Commencement speech ever…Michael Keaton at Kent State:
Beau Tyler loooooooves his sushi.
But his absolute favorite thing in the world to eat might just be chocolate chip cookies. Ok, it DEFINITELY is chocolate chip cookies. He also loves baseball (not to eat. As a sport). Therefore it is not surprise that THIS is his absolute favorite thing of the week…

Here it was on the TV broadcast (cause we knew you were gonna watch it more than once):

This brings together three of our favorite things…families, dogs (yes, I know that’s redundant, but I just wanted to be a little specific), and baseball. It’s a few years old, but worth posting. Click the link below to see the ESPN E:60 piece. And you may get a little emotional…

(I’m not saying I cried. No. I did have a little allergy attack partway through that made my eyes water and tear up a little bit. As I was chopping some onions. Purely coincidental though.)

This is all-natural, A-Rod! No PED’s in this pup!!!
